A number of workshops for teachers and community workers have been held and post-matric are run for students. The steering committee is very active and is ensuring that the community at large is involved in the development of the facility. Delta has been actively involved in developing the Centre and the surroundings as an environmental educational resource by compiling tree, bird and grass lists as well as a booklet of general information on the area. A workshop was held at the Centre in February 1994 in conjunction with the Pimville Youth Development Social Club and members of the community in order to familiarise them with the lists and information that have been developed. It was decided to form an independent trust as the legal entity to administer this Centre. The Klipspruit Environmental Trust was subsequently formed. Delta is looking forward to seeing this fledgling Centre in full flight in the near future!
